Mr. Brett Swaney is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS). His work focuses on transatlantic security and defense industrial base issues. He has published on Baltic security, NATO Partnerships, and integrated deterrence in northern Europe. Mr. Swaney also serves as the book review editor of Joint Force Quarterly, the journal of JPME at National Defense University.
Mr. Swaney joined INSS in 2016 as a research analyst and had previously worked at the Center for Transatlantic Security Studies at NDU. He holds a M.A. in Global Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in History and International Relations from Grand Valley State University.
