39 SFS work with U.S. Army Black Hawks in K-9 Helo Training
A U.S. Army soldier assigned to Task Force Black Cat inspects a UH-60 Black Hawk before a joint K-9 helicopter training mission at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, Sept. 13, 2021. During the mission, military working dog handlers from the 39th Security Forces Squadron conducted medical evacuations on simulated K-9 casualties and other mission-specific tasks required for real-world operations. This interservice training with the U.S. Army enabled them to acclimate their K-9s to helicopter operations under combat conditions. Task Force Black Cat ensures the mobility of the joint warfighter in support of U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command missions throughout Turkey and the wider region. Task Force Black Cat is one of many tenant units that partner with the 39th Air Base Wing to promote security and stability in the region. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jacob Derry)
