Lauren Edson is the Research Assistant for the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS), National Defense University.
Ms. Edson provides research assistance in identifying, locating, collecting, and assembling background papers, and literature searches on national strategy, military policy, and related subject matters for the Center for the Study of Chinese Military Affairs. She gathers input from INSS centers and NDU colleges to draft the annual Research Plan and Research Review. Ms. Edson assists INSS faculty teaching a NDU elective courses through curriculum development, preparation of presentation materials, syllabus development, in-classroom support, and review or feedback on student assignments.
She provides administrative and logistical assistance to the INSS Dean of Administration in the management of the Institute. Administrative duties include calendar management of the INSS Director, timekeeping and review of DTS travel authorizations and vouchers, event scheduling and planning. Ms. Edson also assists the INSS Dean of Administration in the execution of the INSS Internship Program and NDU Scholar Program.
