Dr. Paul David-Justus is an Assistant Research Fellow at the National Defense University’s Center for the Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction (CSWMD) in Washington, D.C. His key areas of research are WMD proliferation, arms control, and strategic deterrence against WMD threats. Specific subjects of this research include international cooperation on counterproliferation efforts, biothreat deterrence, nuclear forensics, nuclear arms control agreements, and intra-NATO affairs. In his role, Dr. David-Justus has designed and led multiple table-top exercises for foreign and domestic participants, provided instruction in professional military education, and written numerous research and policy support products.

Dr. David-Justus holds a doctorate in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University, where he served as a teaching assistant for the Graduate Department of Defense and Strategic Studies. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Department of Political Science.

Prior to joining CSWMD, he was a Junior Analyst at Lockheed Martin’s Government Affairs headquarters covering legislative affairs for space, missile defense, and strategic programs.
