On 14 December 2023, NDU’s Institute for National Strategic Studies hosted a roundtable discussion with the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) Deputy Minister for National Defense Policy, Dr. Taekeun Heo, Major General Sukwang Kim, ROK Ministry of National Defense (MND), Director General for Defense Policy, and NDU experts. The discussion focused on regional security challenges presented by North Korea, China, and Russia; extended deterrence, allied assurance, and other efforts to implement the Washington Declaration.
