190711-N-PJ626-5159 CORAL SEA (July 11, 2019) The amphibious assault ship HMAS Canberra (L 02), top left, the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), top center-left, the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), bottom center-left, and the Japanese helicopter destroyer JS Ise (DDH 182), bottom left, sail in formation with 13 other ships from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) during Talisman Sabre 2019. Talisman Sabre illustrates the closeness of the Australian and U.S. alliance and the strength of the military-to-military relationship. It is the eighth iteration of this exercise.
