Dr. Kathleen Ellis is a Senior Policy Fellow at the Center for Strategic Deterrence and Weapons of Mass Destruction Studies, Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS), National Defense University. Shas over a decade of experience in countering WMD and nuclear nonproliferation programs in the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Nuclear Security Administration. Prior to joining CSWMD, Dr. Ellis managed the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Strategic Trends Research Initiative, focused on future WMD-related challenges and their implications for deterrence, risk reduction, and crisis and conflict prevention.
Dr. Ellis holds a doctorate in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University and a master’s degree from St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD, and is an alumna of the CSWMD Program for Emerging Leaders.
