150111-N-GW139-447 ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 11, 2015) The guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) conducts a live-fire exercise with its close-in weapons system as it is viewed from the 25 mm machine gun system control panel. Sterett is deployed as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group supporting maritime security operations, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
